Community Guidelines
At its core, boating is about recreation and enjoyment, and so is the MarineMax Community website. To ensure that everyone has a good experience here, we ask that you please follow these basic rules.
Play Nice
Be respectful, courteous and understanding. Remember that people have different viewpoints and are entitled to their own opinions, which are just as valid as yours, even if you don’t agree with them.
Be Yourself
Don’t pretend to be someone or something you aren’t, such as a Coast Guard captain, professional angler, etc. People might take you at your word and find themselves in trouble.
Keep It Clean
We encourage debate as long as it’s constructive. Don’t be inflammatory or profane. Personal attacks, threatening or harassing statements, and obscene material are not welcome. This includes linking to any website that is offensive.
Stay Focused
Remember that this is a family-friendly boating site. Don’t talk about controversial stuff like politics, religion, sex/sexuality, etc. Please keep discussion topics within the bounds of the community.
Be Clear & Concise
Make post titles distinct and descriptive. If others are talking about the same subject, post in the existing thread. Also, don’t “hijack” a thread or set off on an unrelated tangent.
Don’t Get Personal
Never post sensitive information, whether yours or someone else’s. Posting your email address is not recommended either. Look at your profile to see the kind of information we advise sharing.
Share, Don’t Steal
It is illegal to post any copyrighted or trademarked material unless you are the owner of said materials. Also, provide links to the web pages from which you’ve researched information. These sources deserve the credit.
No Soliciting
If you have a product or service to sell or promote, you can buy advertising on this site.
We reserve the right to modify these guidelines at any time, effective upon posting of the modified guidelines on the forum. We also reserve the right to remove content, ban accounts or block users from posting material at our discretion and without warning.
If you feel that any user is not respecting these guidelines, you can use our moderation system, or you can get in touch with the MarineMax Community team at www.marinemax.com
